WOW! What a major improvement. Very sharp and eye pleasing not bulky and bland like the previous one. Kudos. How about a section with stats? Very useful for proposal writing. This would have quality of life indicators. Like a one stop resource. LRGVDC has something like it. Either way, nice job!

I wonder if the green movement will bring jobs to South Texas. I know of one organization that is really doing something great. Affordable Homes of South Texas is a Energy Star certified builder. I went to their annual Home Buyer Fair and spoke to their representatives. Even more suprising is the fact that they are a not for profit organization. I was truly impressed. Thanks for the blog. More folks should be aware of the job of MEDC.

It was a great year for Valley high school athletics. A state champion in soccer (Hidalgo boys), a state finalist in soccer (Brownsville Porter boys), two final four teams in basketball (Hidalgo girls, Santa Rosa boys; each first final four team from Valley in over 30 years), a state champion in wrestling (Sam Mangum of McAllen High; first state wrestling champion in Valley history) and a state champion in track & field (Stephen Saenz of Rio Grande City).

If McAllen is to perform like other major cities, we must address the needs of workers. Inclusive of housing, healthcare and education.
